The Infusion center is a 42-bed unit that functions as a high volume infusion center treating high acuity patients. Our team provides care to the following patient population: benign and malignant hematology, malignant solid tumors, gastrointestinal disorders, rheumatology, neurology, pulmonary, allergy and immunology. We are looking for nurses with at least 1 year of acute care experience preferred with Chemo experience as a plus!

Nursing skills gained on this unit:

  • Critical thinking skills
  • ONS Chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification
  • BLS certification
  • Peripheral IV and vascular access device skills
  • Assist with bedside procedures such as lumbar puncture and intrathecal chemotherapy
  • Patient and family education
  • Continuous learning

  • Multidisciplinary team approach to patient care-collaboration with physician, APP, pharmacy, social work, and nutrition teams

Qualifications

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
