New Graduates

New registered nurse (RN) graduates benefit from a comprehensive, personalized support system. All RNs in their first nursing role are invited to participate in a Nurse Residency Program alongside nursing orientation. The program provides socialization and support, enhances clinical judgment, and promotes professional development.

Ball Memorial’s adult medical diabetes is an 18-bed unit specializes in the care of acutely ill diabetic patients. The nurses on this unit treat a variety of medical and progressive level patients, including, but not limited to, heart failure, alcohol withdrawal, and psych. This unit is one of our hospitals TBAAM (Team Based Acuity Adaptable Model) units. This model consists of an interdisciplinary team that rounds daily with the clinical nurse to provide better continuity of care for our patients.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
