New Graduates

New registered nurse (RN) graduates benefit from a comprehensive, personalized support system. All RNs in their first nursing role are invited to participate in a Nurse Residency Program alongside nursing orientation. The Adult Academic Health Center radiology department serves a high acuity and multidisciplinary patient population in a fast-paced and innovative environment. Radiology nurses provide support in all areas of radiology including Interventional Radiology, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, and more. They provide hands-on care for patients undergoing a wide range of imaging procedures and are responsible for patient assessment, monitoring, providing moderate sedation. Unit culture:

• Specialty area of nursing that is unique and unlike other procedural areas

• Close collaboration with radiology technologists and radiologists during a variety of innovative and life-changing procedures
• Provide emergent care to trauma patients at a Level 1 trauma center
• Stroke thrombectomy care as part of a Comprehensive Stroke Center
• PE thrombectomy care at a Level 1 PE center.

Qualifications

• Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
