The IU Health North Schwarz Cancer Center Infusion Center is dedicated to providing a comfortable and supportive environment to oncology patients needing chemotherapy and other specialty infusions.

Nursing skills gained on this unit:

Familiarity with treatment protocols, drug administration techniques, potential side effects, and the latest advancements in the field of oncology

• IV Line management
• Symptom management
• Chemotherapy administration

Qualifications

• Support for pursing OCN license
• Oncology experienced preferred
• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
