New Graduates

New registered nurse (RN) graduates benefit from a comprehensive, personalized support system. All RNs in their first nursing role are invited to participate in a Nurse Residency Program alongside nursing orientation. The program provides socialization and support, enhances clinical judgment, and promotes professional development.

Patient Population/Diagnoses:

* Adult population surgical services-Thoracic, General , Hepatobiliary, GYN, Urology, Plastics, Orthopedics, ENT, Dental, OMFS, and Abdominal Transplant (Liver, Kidney, Pancreas, Intestine and Multi-visceral). Large oncology patient population.

Number of Beds:

* 23

Nursing skills gained:

* Circulating

* Scrubbing

* Training on the daVinci XI robot

Unit culture highlights:

* Multi-disciplinary environment to provide our high acuity patient population highly skilled care

Qualifications

* Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.

* Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.

* Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.

* Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.

* Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
