Indiana University Health is Hiring a Trauma Registrar - Full-Time - Day Shift Near Indianapolis, IN

Job Description
Short Summary:
Abstracts data from Cerner and enters that data into a trauma registry. Assists in reports and data gathering to aid process improvement initiatives, meet quality and productivity metrics.
Details: This position will work full-time, 40 hours a week. The schedule is Monday-Friday with flexible day shift hours. This position will work remotely after on-site training is completed.

What you will do:
Prioritizes and coordinates the activities for the Trauma Registry in order to meet schedules and deadlines, maintain current and accurate procedures and practices. Performs a variety of functions to support the collection and coordination of Trauma Performance Improvement statistics with emphasis on data entry into a comprehensive computerized management system. Acts as a liaison with the Trauma Program Manager, Medical Director(s) and trauma staff to provide reports on a scheduled and ad hoc basis. Collects trauma data for injury research and prevention, as well as quality improvement tracking and assures accuracy and confidentiality in the handling of all Trauma Registry related matters and is concerned with and active in the improvement of Trauma Program within the facility.
What you will need:
  • Trauma Registry experience preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of database management and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Requires knowledge of statistical calculations and information display techniques.
  • Requires knowledge of ICD-9-CM; CPT; DRG; AIS and ISS coding.
  • Requires knowledge and proficiency in medical and hospital terminology; anatomy; pathophysiology and pharmacology.
  • Requires high degree of accuracy and efficiency in processing and maintaining database.
