The Department of Cariology & Operative Dentistry at the Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) in Indianapolis is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position. This will be a 12-month,1.0 FTE appointment at the rank of either assistant or associate professor, with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024, or sooner. JOIN AN INSTITUTION THAT IS GROWING OUR RESEARCH IMPACT We are recruiting to our team someone with research training in microbiology of oral and systemic diseases, including cariology. Additionally, this individual will have (1) a record of ongoing scholarly activity, and (2) consistent success in obtaining extramural research funding. For this particular recruitment, our research areas of interest are in, but not limited to, microbiology /microbiome with a focus on dental microbiology/biofilm; oral microbiome in systemic diseases; or other related fields. These abilities and characteristics are essential because the primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to advance and support the research missions of the Indiana University School of Dentistry and the department of Cariology & Operative Dentistry and develop new aligned research program(s) that are strongly sustained by independent extramural research funds. Faculty practice and other revenue- generating opportunities will be considered for eligible candidates.We also improve the world through teaching and service. Limited didactic teaching and instruction at the pre-doctoral and graduate levels and mentoring of graduate students through their research projects is part of this position.
