The Indianapolis Bar Association & Foundation is offering a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated, collaborative, and detail-oriented team member with at least 2 years’ experience in event planning/management. The opening is immediate.
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Program and Event Director, Program and Event Coordinators are organizers of educational, social, and charitable events and programs. The Program & Event Coordinator will be an effective communicator able to collaborate with volunteers to create and host high quality, affordable, and innovative programming for the Indianapolis legal community. Because this is a hospitality position the majority of work hours are required to be performed in-person at the organization’s offices or other locations.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Coordinating event needs and onsite execution of event logistics including (but not limited to): scheduling, budgeting, security, speakers, venue, travel and transportation, and audio-visual requirements.
· Providing support to enhance the overall quality of our educational programming, social gatherings, and special events.
· Providing effective and positive volunteer management and communication.
· Supporting volunteers in the creation and maintenance of an annual calendar of activities for assigned groups that is innovative and relevant to their needs.
· Collaborating with the marketing and communications team in the development of effective strategies for all assigned activities.
· Managing event sponsor relationships.
· Compiling and managing conference documents including event evaluations, program agendas, participation agreements, and post-event reports.
· Managing event set-up, tear down, and follow-up processes.
· Other duties and projects may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Required to work early morning and early evening events. Ability to multitask, make rational, quick business decisions and work under pressure are important for success. High attention to detail and organization skills required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, and at least 2 years of event planning or hospitality experience. Other preferences include experience with volunteers.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
This position requires the employee to understand basic Microsoft Office Suite, and some familiarity with customer or association management software. An interest in emerging platforms and technologies is helpful to continued success in this position.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
2024 Salary: to $48,000 (if personal expectations are higher, please don’t apply) Typically, 37.5-hour work week.
