Individual Advocacy Group is Hiring a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) Near Silver Spring, MD

Position Summary

The QIDP works to provide an integrated living environment. A homelife is based on values of individual self-worth, dignity, equality, and respect. The QIDP supports the persons served to participate in routine everyday activities, experiences, therapies, health services, community support activities, and opportunities for community inclusion to profound/severely developmentally disabled individuals who reside in a community residential setting.

To improve or assure consistency in attained functional skills and provide structured community, social and interpersonal experiences and activities normalized developmental growth while meeting requirements and the guidelines of funding, monitoring, and accrediting agencies.

Duties

  • Determines and interprets work procedures (e.g., scheduling priority tasks) to promote efficiency assure the person served programmatic and personal needs are met.
  • Communicate with diagnostic, professional, and developmental training/education staff on behalf of DSPs to assure concerted action between units.
  • Examines and evaluates primary and collateral information (tracking sheets, goals, progress notes, etc.) from DSP, professionals, and others to monitor case records to check presence, completeness, and adherence to entry standards.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings, using discretion as to subject matter, to coordinate client service delivery.
  • Trains new DSP or conducts in-services for current DSP'S using necessary materials following Individual Advocacy Groups policies and procedures.
  • Participates in or conducts informational or problem-solving meetings, IPP, parent meeting, diagnostic, intake or discharge, contributing appropriate input, establishing and maintaining effective communication, ensuring professional program planning and monitoring, and performing necessary organizational business.
  • Writes/develops a sequence of steps or procedures by which the client may achieve a specified result or goal, adapting and modifying the plan as changes in situations and client requirements to implement adequate interventions/supports and monitor progress.
  • Writes/reviews/evaluates individual's program plan, referring to recommendations of both clients and client's previous performance and outcomes makes adjustments and changes using discretion as to need to formulate individual program plan.
  • Monitors write incident reports using staff and client information, case records, and knowledge of the situation and recommend and approve resolutions to compile required documents and information for service planning.
  • Reinforces proper behavior, language, social pattern, etc., to improve or increase consistency of the independent functioning of the client.
  • Exchanges with receives from or provide diagnostic staff, colleagues, or supervisor information about client or client program in verbal or written format as required to maintain records and plan or implement services.
  • Formulates client objectives and evaluates client's performance on assigned goals examining outcome against stated criteria, using rating scales, tracking sheets, monthly progress notes, etc., to ensure personal growth and improvement in specific skills.
  • Inspects/monitors clients for appropriateness noting clothing, hygiene, behavior, etc., about standards and taking corrective action if required to maintain clients' dignity, health, welfare, and safety.
  • Substitutes for absent coworkers in performance of assigned duties with direction from supervisor to endure the day-to-day functioning of the unit
  • Completes required IPP reports, forms, progress notes, etc., using performance records, tracing sheets, and established guidelines to comply with agency and state requirements.
  • Evaluates/discusses in the individual conference, worker's understanding of policies (e.g., progressive discipline), job behavior (e.g., a delay which exceeds expected level), judging content and consequences of work behavior to inform the worker of results work performance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
