Salary : $19.00-$20.00 / hr. Depending on Experience

Schedule : 8am-4 : 30pm Monday-Friday

Responsibilities :

Your contribution is essential to our mission of providing basic needs services to un-housed individuals and families. As part of our outreach team, you will serve at unhoused Popup Services Sites throughout the South Santa Clara County area.

You will also travel with our team to homeless encampments to provide basic needs supplies and services as well as offer options for referral services, incentivizing trash mitigation, and offering other support.

Duties :

• Perform outreach services, contacting homeless persons in all places where they congregate including encampments
• Distribute food, clothing, and essential items to unhoused population
• Maintain, clean and provide upkeep of the warehouse
• Organize, load and unload outreach van
• Set up and break up down of weekly pop-ups
• Maintain warehouse inventory
• Ensure compliance with HUD and contract standards
• Complete all appropriate data collection, documentation, paperwork, and tracking of activities within 3 business days
• Case file maintenance
• Know and follow agency and program policies and procedures
• Participate in training and education opportunities to maintain and improve proficiency
• Documents, via progress notes in HMIS, all case management activity within 3 business days and maintains all other case file paperwork and documentation
• Other duties as assigned by management

Physical Requirements

• This position is considered moderately to highly physical and requires a lot of standing, bending, lifting and walking
• Able to stoop, kneel, carry, push and pull, ascend / descend stairs, climb ladders,
• The ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds on a regular basis

Skills and Experience :

• High-energy individual with a strong work ethic, the work is fast paced and very physical
• Ability to listen, comprehend, and effectively communicate information both in writing and orally with all individuals
• Make timely and accurate decisions in emergency or crisis situations with awareness of the need for safety of all clients, staff, or volunteers involved.
• Ability to Collaborate with team members
• Ability to practice harm reduction
• Ability to express empathy to individuals from diverse and vulnerable backgrounds.
• Experience in an environment serving vulnerable populations with physical and emotional health risks or the equivalent.
• Current driver’s license and clean driving record
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bilingual English / Spanish preferred
