Description: JOB SUMMARYThe Histology Technician works with the Histology Technical Specialist as a resource for advanced technical knowledge. Responsible for the performance of repetitive high volume tests in a modern anatomic pathology lab; identify direct causes of problems (technical or instrumental) and make the corrections using present guidelines; monitor quality control procedures within predetermined parameters. Performs immunocytochemical stains on cytologic and histologic specimens and evaluates quality and adequacy of each test. Acts as a resource in the department to help solve quality and technical problems.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSASCP Certification as Histo-Technician (HT) or HTL.
