Lab Technicians perform biorepository functions for sample handling, storage, retrieval, disposition, and entering information in a laboratory inventory management system.
Will also perform specialized services to laboratories, such as sample manipulation, aliquoting, and other handling that may require aseptic technique.
Responsible for other aspects of laboratory operations including equipment maintenance and waste handling. Develop your skills by suggesting process improvements and participating in laboratory investigations!
Receive samples, performing inventory and QC to ensure agreement with manifests
Follow procedures for handling of samples and entering sample information in a laboratory inventory management system.
Perform QC/QA to ensure that sample positions within storage boxes are accurate
Print and apply labels to vials/containers
Retrieve samples and prepare them for disposition
Package samples following all regulations to maintain the required thermal conditions
Respond to unit alarms; transfer samples as required
Transfer and/or aliquot samples using universal precautions and following biosafety rules
