Job Details

  1. POSITION PURPOSE: State briefly the primary purpose of the position and why the position is needed to meet business objectives.
  • Manage and execute technology solutions in line with the strategic direction of the Data Management and Analytics business areas.
  • Oversee E2E execution of deliverables in alignment with timeline and delivery commitments.
  • Oversee resource and capacity for delivery teams (internal and 3rd party) for assigned projects to ensure delivery expectations can be met. Able to foresee potential obstacles and problem solve roadblocks proactively.
  • Enforce the Data Management and Analytics team processes for managing the work (includes LeanKit/Kanban board management, Sharepoint, and others); contributes constructively to enhancement of processes.
  • Provide insight and input to capital budget for projects under scope of position. Ensure delivery matches expectations for IT and the business.
  • Ensure SDLC, SOX, and Information Security processes are followed for systems that fall under the scope of the position at all times.
  • Able to communicate with IT and stakeholders knowledgeably and effectively; adapts communications to audience and objectives as required.
  • Able to navigate ambiguity and rapid shifts in direction seamlessly.
  • Effective and knowledgeable with elements of tactical product management, iterative delivery processes, coupled with nimble decision-making abilities; attention to detail and thoroughness is critical.
  1. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: List in priority order describing the major functions of the position.

Program Knowledge:

  • Acts as subject matter expert for assigned program(s) within Data Management and Analytics.
  • Develops and maintains a deep understanding of current business processes and future needs.
  • Provides input to IT teams on business process, critical needs, and functionality priority. 20%

Ongoing Process Modeling:

  • Works with Business Analysts to provide input into the development of process models to meet the needs of the organization's application systems.
  • Manages the flow of information between departments using COTS and customer applications.
  • Maintains process integrity by working to eliminate redundancy. 10%

Project Execution:

  • Works with Director, Program and Project Managers to develop workload plan and roadmaps.
  • Leads product teams to ensure all assigned projects are completed in scope, on time, and on budget.
  • Collaborate with product teams, to work through issues as they are identified and drive to determine solutions. 50%

Program & Project Planning:

  • Provide input to Program Managers, and team, into project plans and future roadmaps for their assigned program. 10%

External Partner Relationships:

  • Establish, maintain, and optimize relationships with resource and technology vendors and partners, aligning the overall utilization of their resources optimally to provide best total cost of ownership and return on investment. 10%
  1. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE: Waterfall methodology and Kanban.

  • Excel, Word, Sharepoint.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Project Management with experience managing projects and teams by these methods. Understands the concepts of SDLC and can apply project management methodologies to common software development methodologies, resulting in optimal deliverables.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of best practices for QA/QC and support processes to effectively manage solutions.
  • Ability to identify risks and communicate those risks to the appropriate audience and then to facilitate the mitigation of those risks.
  • Experience mapping business requirements to technology capabilities, identifying gaps and omissions and designing end-to-end solutions. Expertise in the definition, implementation and continuous improvement of project processes and techniques; manage competing demands relevant to scope, schedule and cost (i.e., the 'triple constraint'), as well as both risk and quality. Experience with cost/benefit analysis, determining the ROI of various alternatives and trade-offs.
  • Knowledge of data management and analytics concepts, data warehousing methodologies, tools, and technology.
  • Exposure of data governance and data quality program; understand/maintain business glossary, work with data governance leadership on implementing data governance program at enterprise level.
  • Plans and prepares technical reports, memos, and instructional manuals as documentation of program development.
  • Comprehends and understands program/project strategy, roadmaps, and timelines for execution.
  • Process flow diagrams Visio or other process modeling software.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Interpersonal/Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with the customer and technology partners. Must be articulate and capable of conveying complex and technical ideas clearly/concisely; sensitive to needs of the audience; ensures the customer, as well as service areas within Technology & Systems are kept informed of plans, status, and current problems/challenges; manages around internal politics; empathetic; good listener.
  • Strong negotiation skills to reach agreement on realistic requirements scope and schedule.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead meetings with multiple teams. Clearly articulate complicated processes and issues in a meaningful way. Build consenscoalitions amongst diverse (or divergent) interests; acts with integrity; takes the initiative; exercises sound judgment; sets the example.
  • Analytical/Problem Solving: Intellectual capacity and ability to gather, sort, and analyze data and then develop logical conclusions; critical thinking skills; familiar with problem solving tools/techniques and able to communicate options, conclusions, and recommendations to both the business and the technology teams.
  • Must be a constant learner. Stays up to date on industry knowledge and striving to learn about new and emerging technologies and trends in the Exhibition, Information Technology (IT) industries as well as business practices and trends (including regulatory and compliance requirements).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: .

Minimum educational requirements: (Include degree and/or certifications)

  • Bachelor s degree in technology or equivalent experience (necessary to develop self-direction, writing ability, critical thinking, foundations of programming and software delivery fundamentals).
  • Significant business and technical experience will be considered.

Minimum years of experience required: (Include job-related and/or supervisory experience)

  • Minimum five years of professional development experience.
  • Experience in data management and analytics area.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certifications or working experience over Data Analytics, Data Governance and Agile methodology
  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
  • IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
  1. DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY/PROBLEM SOLVING:
  • Effectively managing multiple needs at once and ensuring critical business needs are being met at the appropriate time.
  • Developing and maintaining business process knowledge as well as understanding future needs. Not only is this a time management issue, but the Project Manager will need to identify areas which they need to understand and seek out opportunities for training with minimal to no oversight.
  • Identifying solutions, from a business process perspective, to meet critical business needs. Having the confidence and knowledge to be able to clearly present options and gain consensus.
  • Managing strategic and tactical project priority changes, injector projects that must get done with little or no advance notice, and scope change within planned, scheduled, or active projects and the associated impact to existing project timelines and established budgets.
