INFOSOFT is Hiring a Gearbox Assembly Technician Near Alpharetta, GA

Here are the job position details for your review:

Job Title: Gearbox Assembly Technician
Pay Rate: $18 to $20/Hr(BOE)
Duration: 9 months
Location: Alpharetta, GA

Shift: 2nd Shift - 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM (Mon-Thurs)

  • Attach gearbox housing and couplings to build the stand.
  • Install gears, bearings, and housings.
  • Measure for accurate clearances using a calibrated instrument (depth gauge, calliper, micrometre, etc.).
  • Install spacers and covers and various fasteners, plugs, and hardware
  • Demount the gearbox from the building stand.
  • Inspect, test (if applicable), and adjust completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
  • Assemble parts or units, and position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames. Disassemble units to replace parts or to crate them for shipping.
  • Position, align, and adjust parts for accurate fit and assembly.
  • Attach name plates and mark identifying information on parts.
  • Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and verniers. Inspect parts for surface defects.
  • Align, fit, or assemble component parts, using hand or power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes.
  • Verify part dimensions or clearances to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, bills of materials, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions.
  • Explain assembly procedures or techniques to other workers.
  • Clean working areas and parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths. Inventory tools.
  • Drill or tap holes in specified equipment locations.
  • Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan or review work activities or to resolve production problems.
  • Conduct 6S audits and safety walks.
  • Participate in work groups / projects in order to inform oneself and to provide information to the others and to optimize processes and workflows.
  • We are looking to select the individuals with the most closely aligned practical experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities with the job duties outlined above.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.
  • Knowledge of environmental health and safety laws and procedures.
  • Knowledge of product, workmanship standards, and assembly procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of computer software applications.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of machines, power tools, and hand tools, including their designs, uses repair, and operator-level maintenance.
  • Knowledge of basic lean principles and techniques for optimizing processes and eliminating waste.
  • Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Monitoring — Monitoring/Assessing the performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Operation Monitoring — Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Communicating effectively as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Mechanical Assembly — Assembling mechanical connections and components as per drawings, instructions, and procedures.
  • Collaboration— Working with others to achieve a common goal.

Requirements:

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Extensive experience with electromechanical assembly
  • Extensive Wiring experience
  • Direct assembly experience reading and interpreting schematic drawings
  • Ability to physically lift 35 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (read, speak, write)
  • Ability to collaborate successfully in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to learn and process information quickly and execute tasks successfully
  • Ability to work safely and to operate power tools and equipment in a safe manner

Preferences:

  • Extensive experience with electro-mechanical assembly
  • Extensive Wiring experience
  • Must be able to read complex schematics
  • There will be a technical test as a part of the hiring process

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift
  • Night shift
