Job DescriptionThe Maintenance & Services Category Lead will bring deep subject matter expertise and is seen as thought leader in the Category Management of the Maintenance & Services Category. This individual will have the capability to conceive, initiate, develop, communicate, and manage the execution of a Maintenance & Services category strategy in a CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) environment. They will need to demonstrate and display history of development and implementation of a Maintenance & Services Category Strategy with multiple strategic initiative delivering quantifiable benefits. Additionally, the Maintenance & Services Category Lead will have extensive experience in business stakeholder engagement and a consultative approach to drive transformation of the Maintenance & Services category in a client environment.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face-to-face.

QualificationsBasic
- A bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent is required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience in the job description
- 10 years of in-depth experience with managing Maintenance & Services categories
- 8 years with a management consulting firm driving Procurement Transformation in a client environment
- 8 years’ experience in a CPG or Food & Beverage Manufacturing environment or related manufacturing industry
- Maintenance & Services Category Management experience of an annual spend of at least $500M
- Ability to define and execute end-to-end sourcing & procurement processes including analysis, market profiles, strategy development, sourcing execution, negotiations, contracting and supplier management
- Ability to identify and lead transformation/improvement opportunities in Maintenance & Services
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
- Knowledge of SAP, Coupa or other Procurement ERP software systems
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be based out of Chicago, IL with consideration for remote resources
- Ability to travel up to 50% of your time
