This engaging and fast paced role is lab-based on site (M-F).
As a Lab Ops Associate you will foster dynamic relationships with scientists to better serve their needs and build relationships with strategic partners to continuously improve and optimize laboratory functions. Lab Ops Associate will own several developmental labs and will be responsible for oversight of instrumentation, lab space functions, and other tasks related to keeping the laboratory spaces safe and organized to support staff. May assist with special projects as assigned. Follows all applicable SOPs and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
OR
Associate’s degree and 4 years of experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 6 years of experience

• Excellent written and verbal communication as well as documentation practices
• Oversee the upkeep of all assigned lab space to appropriate standards for effective scientific use
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Maintain daily upkeep, scheduling, and oversight of instrument maintenance, coordinating schedules with Lab Concierge, JLL, ULS, and Facilities
• Provide and communicate resources (ISPs) to assist lab staff with non lab ops supported activities
• Remove the administrative burden from scientists by submitting and tracking work orders in Maximo and purchasing lab consumables within MyBuy and/or Ariba Catalog
• Assist scientists, lab concierge, JLL, and EHSS with equipment installations
• Engage in Lab Ops cross site communication and huddles to remain aligned in best practices
• Instrument safety and training oversight as Maximo custodian and junior SME
• Work with lab concierge and SAM program to purge assets not in use
• Actively engage in 5S activities with team members and scientists to continually maintain and improve lab space standards for effective scientist use
• Communicate with staff to collect VOC data (feedback) for continuous improvement activities and issue resolution
• Engage in Safety Action Team (SAT) meetings and facilitate safety trainings
• Coordinate and participate in monthly GETs safety walk and submit report
• Conduct monthly/weekly lab huddle(s) to share safety, equipment, and general updates to staff
• Upkeep of CRIS containers and material storage in labs to ensure materials are stored properly, materials are not expired, and materials are properly labeled
• Coordinate with scientists to maintain freezers/cold rooms/refrigerators/incubators, move samples, and ensure response to alarms (CEMS)
• Assist ULS pipette team with maintenance and calibration scheduling of pipettes
• Work with scientists to ensure lifecycle management of assets by replacing or upgrading
• Benchtop support with IS and Data Management
• Assist new staff members in building and lab safety orientation walkthroughs
• Maintain a Building Captain Role and assist with emergency response and evacuation coordinators
• Maintain and complete LMS assignments and JHA training
• Utilize Maximo (Asset Info), MyBuy (Purchase), CEMS (Freezers/Fridges/Incubators), SAP (System Manager to Approve PO’s), LABMAC (Add and/or Move Equipment Requests), EHSS Change Management (Change Controls)
