Job SummaryAssemble, fabricate, and test mechanical parts, systems, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line in a manufacturing organization. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Responsibilities
- Read, interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment(s) and products.
- Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, and Product Management as required on system builds, test/certify/life cycle new or sustaining products.
- Utilize manual and pneumatic tools.
- Maintain inventory of product in work stations.
- Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards.
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
- Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness (5S) of work area daily
- Participate in continuous improvement goals of the work site
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years’ experience in heavy mechanical assembly

Key Competencies
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
- Ability to use various power (pneumatic) hand tools (i.e.; power screwdriver, socket etc.)
- Knowledge of tube bending, cut off and deburring
- Ability to understand blueprints.
- Computer hardware understanding and proficiency
- Possess knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly, connecting wires to terminals, AC/DC current concepts.
- Systems fabrication strongly preferred.
