The Dentist is primarily responsible for providing dental care for the patients of Inland Behavioral and Health Services, Inc. In addition, the Dentist may be directed to perform other duties as directed by the Dental Director within the requirements of contractual agreement with the funding sources, and in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the IBHS Board of Directors.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Typical responsibility and duties for the Dentist include but are not limited to:

• Assume quality of care for all patients
• Adhere to the highest standard of dental practices, ethics and professionalism at all times.
• Assist the Dental Director in establishing dental policies, quality improvement procedures, evaluating current practices, and make recommendations.
• Recommend changes in all clinical areas or in general to improve patient flow, dental record, dental billings, and appointment practices.
• Supervise, direct, train, and educate dental ancillary staff to perform their duties when necessary to understand policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Maintain an affiliation with the professional groups, dental associations, and dental organizations whenever possible or as directed by the Dental Director.
• Provide “emergency call” as scheduled by the Dental Director in accordance with protocols established in that regard and common and standard practices.
• Participation in community health events, such as school screenings, health fairs, social and community events, etc.
• Other duties as directed by the Dental Director.
• Must become familiar with Federal, State, and local funding agencies’ rules and regulations in providing special dental services to certain classes of recipients of services.
• Become familiar with Federal and State dental programs and their requirements
• Assist in developing the dental care plan for Inland Behavioral and Health Services and recommended changes as necessary.
• Promotes and believes in IBHS mission statement “Health for All”.
• Ability to relate to the public regardless of ethnic, religion and economic status.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate from an accredited dental school
• One year of paid practice, up to 5 years of practice of experience with complex dental cases.

• Must posses a valid California dental license
• Professional clinical dental experience in practicing dentistry
• Interest in design and evaluation of efficiency of a dental program in a community health center setting.
• Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends
• Must have reliable transportation to travel to multiple dental sites if needed.
• Authoritative knowledge of the practice and techniques of dentistry as a general practitioner in a community health center is highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSBe familiar with dental tools, instruments, materials and equipment and their appropriate use. Must follow procedures to protect against any infectious diseases and to maintain a sanitary workplace. Able to stand, walk on even surface, bend, sit, squat, reach, pull, and carry 25 lbs. Must feel comfortable interacting with the public

Pay: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
