Qualifications and Skills:

The preferred candidate will have prior experience operating a window-patching machine or folder-gluer machine in one or more of the following industries: Folding Carton; Corrugated; or Point of Purchase Displays. Skills / Aptitudes / Character sought in candidate include Reliability, Punctuality; Basic Computer; Math; Written & Interpersonal Skills; Professional Attitude; Problem-solving; and Mechanical Skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setup and make adjustments as needed on a windowing machine. Transition from a 1 round to a 2 or 3 round setup.
• Verify that window and glue have strong adhesion to cartons.
• Setup 4 or 6 corner cartons on a Folder Gluer. Transition from one to another
• Carefully review job specifications to determine page sequence, type of fold, page size and packing requirements.
• Pre-set side guide, fold plates, fold rollers, and any slitting blades or perforators required.
• Load sheets onto feeder and jog sheets into proper positions to determine final settings of units for completion.
• Adjust machine during production run as required for, adherence to all quality and customer requirements.
• Ensure accurate folding/gluing by checking blueprint or previous printed sample (if reprint) and regularly pull signatures for quality control.
• Ensure product is packed properly before forwarding to final finishing and shipping.
• Perform various types of maintenance on Folder on daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Experience as a window operator is required. Preferably Kohmann Rotary Window Patching Machine.
• Previous experience with Signature Elite Folder Gluer.
• Ability to troubleshoot glue system and barcode reader.
• Check quality of parts before final packing.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions including those dealing with dimensions and quantity.
• Experience in a time sensitive printing and production environment
• History of performing well under pressure; capable of multi-tasking
• Good communication and comprehension skills -- including written and verbal
• Team and goal oriented; and, must be very detailed oriented
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
