Director of Digital Analytics

INNOCEAN USA, a full-service advertising agency located in Huntington Beach, CA is looking for a Director of Analytics to build and maintain technical data frameworks; author long-term data, optimization and personalization roadmaps, and train a team of skilled analysts and engineers to create best-in-class analytics strategies. 

This successful candidate will excel both strategically and technically, marrying solid coding and tag management experience with a knack for innovation through strategic thinking and collaboration across the business and providing INNOCEAN with a wealth of data to drive sales, product improvements and thought leadership on critical projects. 

The Director's leadership will not only lead INNOCEAN's analytics team, but they will also strive to improve the adoption and understanding of analytics' importance across the business, helping all of INNOCEAN to drive revenue and growth by deriving meaningful data insights. Such evangelism requires close partnership and communication across the organization, lending an ear to needs and objectives and responding with expertise and care. 

The Director must also be able to organize and implement omnichannel marketing programs, building customer segments across combined data sets and using those audiences to move prospective auto buyers across the customer journey. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Ownership of all organizational data, including website tracking and data monitoring, integration of data sets for each automotive tier
• Devise and implement a comprehensive data QA framework
• Lead data projects from beginning to end by answering business questions with analytics strategy, working closely with product teams to develop KPIs and reporting strategy, delivering clear and concise recommendations and provably accomplishing stated objectives
• Continuously train and manage a team of data analysts and developers to deliver on goals by developing comprehensive and easily comprehended reports/dashboards to deliver strategic, easily digestible data
• Set team goals and create a culture of harmony, collaboration and success
• Set monthly, quarterly and annual business goals
• Lead A/B and multivariate testing strategy
• Deliver thought leadership on optimization and personalization efforts, driving strategy with data across the business
• Manage expectations through every project phase
• Create and maintain documentation of processes, technical solutions and analytic governance
• Devise advanced attribution strategies, improving ROI and the ability to build audiences and personalize content
• Target opportunities for business growth via data insights
• Perform analytics gap analyses with key stakeholders
• Evaluate new analytics tools and engage with software providers to determine which are right for INNOCEAN

REQUIREMENTS 
• Excellent prioritization and project management skills
• Ability to plan and implement omnichannel marketing campaigns, from the creation of user personae to building content matrices and technical frameworks underpinning personalization
• At least 15 years' experience with digital analytics, including experience with large automotive manufacturers
• Success building analytic strategies/implementations across a broad mix of industries
• Back- or front-end development experience, with experience managing development teams preferred
• Prior experience managing analytics teams
• Ability to problem solve and think critically
• A talent for telling a story with data and the ability to present ideas engagingly and creatively
• Thorough knowledge of Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics
• Thorough knowledge of the Adobe Launch and Tealium tag management platforms
• Knowledge of optimization tools (e.g., Adobe Target, Optimizely)
• Javascript
• SQL
• Python
• At least some experience with ETL tools like Looker, Tableau and Domo
• Knowledge of digital advertising, media strategy and paid media measurement
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to convey technical details in layman’s terms and to foster collaboration among teams

Reports to: VP, Analytics and Engineering

Salary range: $160,000 to $175,000 
Pay is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to: years of experience, training, and transferable skills.
