As an Automation Electrical Engineer you will:

• Specify electrical components
• Create electrical schematics
• Create control panel layouts and detailed drawings
• Single line and three-line Power distribution design using SW Electrical
• Specify all electrical and controls-related hardware and software and produce requisitions for material purchases
• Integrate third party equipment and electronic component entry into electrical design packages. Examples include serial and network communications, hardware handshaking, etc.
• Verify that electrical design package is complete, accurate and safe based on sound design practices and accepted standards, and that the Schematics meet project requirements prior to issue to shop floor
• Work with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers, and electricians to solve problems to provide the customer with a complete, functional system
• Prepare project engineering documentation utilizing Asana project management
• Work with team members to continuously to improve methods of integrating controls technology
• Site verification, installation, startup, and commissioning of provided services

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5 years Automation Design Experience: Understanding and implementing of servos, machine vision, robotics, conveyance, and other sub equipment associated with industrial automation
• 5 years Electrical Engineering Fundamentals: Solid understanding of electrical principles, including power distribution, motor control, and safety considerations
• 5 years Electrical design: Creating electrical schematics, pneumatic schematics and control panel drawings
• 5 years Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve control system issues efficiently
• 3 years Machine Networking: Design and application of machine networks (e.g. Ethernet/IP, ProfNet, Ether CAT, etc.)
• 3 years Machine Safety: Knowledge of ISO standards, RIA 15.06, and similar OSHA requirements
• 3 years Mechatronics: A combination of mechanical, electrical, and control system knowledge, allowing for a holistic understanding of the automated machinery
• 3 years Project Management: Ability to manage control system projects from design to implementation, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk mitigation
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders

Additional Skills:

• BS EE, Mechatronics or Related Field or equivalent experience
• Certifications in relevant standards i.e. NFPA 79, UL508a, ISO13849, IEC62061
• Experience building and testing electrical systems
• Cybersecurity Awareness: Understanding of cybersecurity principles to implement secure communication protocols and protect control systems from cyberattacks
• Version Control Systems: Familiarity with version control systems like Git to manage code changes and ensure project traceability
• Project Management Tools: Proficiency in project management software like MS Project or similar tools for efficient project planning and execution
• Project Documentation & Report Writing: Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation and reports for control system designs, troubleshooting procedures, and project deliverables
• Experience with Kuka, Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa or other industrial robotics products
• Experience with CAD software, Solidworks Electrical preferred
• Experience utilizing Visual Components, or similar software for digital twin and offline programming

Pay Range*: 120k-125k

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
