Location: Millville, NJ
Shift: 1st Shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm
Pay Rate: $17.00/hr
Reports to: Laboratory Supervisor
Job Summary:
Innovation Foods has an immediate job opening for a Sanitation Technician team member who ensures the plant meets mandatory sanitation requirements. This role works closely with the production and quality teams to ensure that the site sanitation program is executed to the highest standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safe operation of power equipment, to include pumps, production machines, and lift trucks
- Follow SOPs for safe cleaning and equipment operation
- Handle and use of chemicals, to include titrations, dispensing and transporting
- Prioritize and execute tasks during the shift
- Support and enhance the site sanitation program
- Complete daily and routine cleanings, inspections and replace supplies or tools
- Support the inventory and inspection of safety tools/stations (eyewash stations, sharp tools, firstaid stations)
- Perform miscellaneous cleaning tasks (including sweeping- scrubbing- polishing- dusting- etc.) throughout the entire facility and outside grounds
- Uphold visual management of the work areas; including stocking supplies
- Follow and support continuous improvement methodologies
- Strict adherence to all safety, health, and environmental policies
- Strict adherence to all GMP and food safety policies
- Create and follow-up on work orders for area as needed
- Support plant and department audits when needed
- Complete all required training on time
- Other duties as assigned
- Experience in high speed, high volume automated manufacturing environment is preferred (1-2 years)
- Previous experience in sanitation is preferred (6-12 months)
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to weights, measures and record keeping
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- Ability to read, speak, and write in English
- Required to regularly lift up to 50lbs
- Flexibility to work overtime and additional shifts based on business needs
- Collaborator - able to work with other members of the processing team
- Adaptive - adjusts to changing priorities and conditions
- Motivated - self-starter with the ability to work in a team and independently to achieve team objectives
- Safety conscious - abide by all safety measures put in place at Innovation Foods
- Customer focused - understands the need for the highest standard of food quality in production
