Innovative Driven is currently seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join the team at a well-respected Los Angeles law firm client. This firm is proud of its sophisticated and forward-thinking approach to litigation, and they are seeking a charismatic and driven paralegal to join the team!
The firm is open to a hybrid schedule. The first six months of the role, the role will be fully onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Manage case documents, including collection, organization, review and production of documents.
- Draft, review and revise simple litigation documents.
- E-file necessary documents in appellate, federal and state courts
- Format briefs.
- Assist with the preparation of court filings, including cite and fact checking legal briefs, cross-reference checks, confirming proper Bluebook citation.
- Proofread and perfect legal documents
- Assemble and bookmark exhibits.
- Research using Westlaw LexisNexis, PACER, SEC/EDGAR and other systems.
- Research court rules and judges special rules and procedures
- Draft discovery documents and pleadings for attorney review
- Assist with trial proceedings and preparation.
- Coordinate and prepare documents for production.
- Utilize e-discovery databases, as needed
- Create document production logs, privilege logs and redaction logs
- Summarize depositions
- Assist attorneys with preparation for depositions and hearings
Requirements:
- 4-10 years of litigation paralegal experience in fast-paced commercial law firm setting
- Candidates must be Certified Paralegals in CA.
- Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Experience locating information from court-related databases.
- Demonstrable ability to quickly and accurately determine the cadence for filings to prevent any lapses in deadlines.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook
