Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: This role is located in Plymouth, NC
Job Summary:
The Project Engineer will oversee major capital and expense projects for a pulp and paper client. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role ensures all project activities comply with safety, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of capital, expense, and improvement projects from scope definition to execution.
Ensure compliance with EHS regulations throughout project phases.
Develop project plans, schedules, and resource allocations, emphasizing HSE compliance.
Lead project teams, providing direction and feedback to meet milestones.
Communicate project status to executives and stakeholders.
Conduct Cost Benefit Analysis and contribute to business cases.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers.
Provide technical support and solutions in cross-functional teams.
Supervise engineering and construction contractors.
Analyze operational and maintenance issues, providing effective solutions.
Prepare procurement specifications and contract documents.
Manage project costs and commissioning processes.
Conduct equipment inspections and surveys.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering; Electrical or Mechanical preferred.
5-10 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager in an industrial mill setting.
Experience in construction management or maintenance in an industrial/process plant environment.
Proficiency with maintenance software such as SAP, MS Office, and scheduling software; AutoCAD skills a plus.
Ability to read blueprints and diagrams.
Willingness to temporarily relocate for the contract term or commute daily to Plymouth, NC.
