N o Nights – No Weekends – No Holidays – No Call Inova Ambulatory Surgery Center at Franconia-Springfield is a full service ambulatory outpatient facility. We are licensed, Medicare certified, and AAAHC accredited. We provide cost-effective outpatient services using modern, state-of-the-art technology in a friendly and caring environment by highly-skilled, compassionate staff. We are located in the Inova Healthplex in Alexandria, VA. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years experience and be able to work in PreOp, PACU, or PreOp Interview to meet the needs of the unit. HoursMonday-Friday, Day Shift 3 days/week, varied hours JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Include But Are Not Limited To
Participating in pre-operative patient care, and post surgical phase one and two recovery care
Performing patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patients’ age
Reviewing diagnostics and laboratory data and reporting results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers
Ensuring patient meets all discharge criteria
Documenting assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record
Discharging the patient either per wheelchair, assisting with ambulation, or other appropriate method based on patient condition
Reviewing, educating, and providing a copy of the written discharge instructions to the patient and caregivers
Requirements
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
Current RN license in the state of Virginia, BLS certification
Current ACLS/PALS certification, or must achieve within six (6) months of date of hire
Minimum 2 years previous work experience in an ambulatory surgery setting or acute hospital recovery room
