Inova Health System is Hiring a Rehabilitation Program Manager Near Alexandria, VA

Exciting opportunity to join our dynamic outpatient rehab clinic to manage our Outpatient Neuro Specialty Clinic and Cardiac Rehab Clinic. This is for our Inova Mt. Vernon location, a regional leader in rehabilitative services.
We specialize in the care for individuals who have experienced a life changing injury or illness. Our extensive outpatient programs include personalized hands-on therapy, counseling and education. With specialty certified clinicians and state-of-the-art equipment, our team is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to help individuals achieve their highest level of functioning. We also help patients and their families build a strong support system and establish links to community resources.

The Manager of the Rehabilitation Program demonstrates an understanding of all rehabilitation regulatory/payer requirements and applies them accordingly in clinical practice on a daily basis. Demonstrates advanced communication skills necessary for effective problem-solving, conflict resolution, and facilitating group interactions to achieve desired outcomes. Manages, supervises, and facilitates the development of a large, complex, and multidisciplinary staff.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Fosters two-way communication with staff relating to program issues, policies/procedures, regulatory requirements, and healthcare trends.
  • Completes accurate documentation in Functional Independence Measure (FIM) and/or Functional Assessment Measure (FAM) for accurate scoring of any of the FIM/FAM items observed/scored and for the appropriate justification of score within established timeframes.
  • Independently manages staffing/hiring process, anticipates changes in staff needs, requests external advertising appropriately, and utilizes cost-effective approaches to skill mix changes.
  • Participates in the maintenance/enforcement of operating unit policies and The Joint Commission/CARF regulations.
  • Monitors ongoing expenses/revenue and explains variances while developing corrective actions to ensure financial viability.
  • Oversees staffing to ensure smooth delivery of patient care.
  • Monitors and manages program outcomes such as functional outcomes, patient/team member satisfaction, and program costs.
  • Oversees the pertinent rehabilitation continuum of care by guiding program development, analyzing trends, and initiating marketing of the program based on expectations and the projected needs/vision for the program.
  • Oversees assigned department or functional area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members, and delegating tasks.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements
Certification - Basic Life Support THRU THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION

Licensure - Virginia license eligible

Experience - Four years of clinical experience in a rehab setting

Education - Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational therapy or master's in Speech-Language Pathology.
