About Us For more than 50 years, TTE Filters and Microwave Circuits has been a leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of precision electronic components for RF, microwave, and power applications. Components include standard off-the-shelf and custom-designed inductors, chips, chokes, coils, conicals, toroids, transformers, and magnetic devices in surface mount and axial-leaded (thru-hole) configurations that are used in a wide variety of electronic applications around the world. The company offers RoHS-compliant products as well as lead-containing components for QPL military/defense and other demanding requirements. Non-magnetic inductors are also available for situations where magnetic components would compromise system performance, as in medical imaging (MRI) equipment. About The PositionApplication-specific RF and Microwave Filters design of connectorized and surface mount Filters, Bias-Tees, Equalizers, Couplers, Dividers and similar microwave components. Product development for introduction of new product lines, or expansion of existing products. Design-support of existing products, including design and/or material changes, resolving manufacturing and/or test inspection problems.
Specific Duties And Responsibilities
  • Design engineer will be required to perform the above-listed responsibilities with limited oversight and direction. Individual is expected to be self-motivated, detail oriented and have superior problem-solving skills.
  • Close interaction with iNRCORE and Gowanda Sales, Manufacturing, and Quality departments is required as part of a coordinated approach to gaining and maintaining customer business.
  • Customer contact is required and may be via electronic communication, verbal or travel to customer’s site. Engineer must confidently interface with customer’s technical, quality, and purchasing organizations.
  • Engineer will be responsible for developing detailed design documentation including but not limited to creation/revision of bills of materials, raw-material drawings, process flow sheets, manufacturing work instructions, part specification sheets, RFQ proposals, test fixtures, test equipment and test inspection plans.
  • Design work will be performed at times as part of a design team, or by the individual themselves utilizing design tools such as Keysight Genesys Software, CAD or 3D Inventor Software.
  • Job will require reading and understanding detailed documentation such as customer specifications, military specifications, vendor technical data sheets and similar items.
  • Position will require design validation via making sample parts, testing said parts, documenting and interpreting results. This will include hands-on-time at the bench: soldering, assembling hardware, set-up, and use of test equipment.
  • Individual is expected to maintain a 360-degree view of industry practices, establish vendor relationships, look for competitor product introductions, follow military specification changes and generally be knowledgeable of market trends.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation: BS EE or equivalent is required Experience: 5 years of solid relevant experience.
Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesEducation and/or Experience: Combination of BS EE (or equivalent) with 5 years relevant design engineering experience is required.
Mathematical Skills: Excellent math skills required as is typical with engineering professionals having earned a BS EE.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Effective communication, both verbally and in writing.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or in diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: Filter Design Software, CAD or 3D Inventor and reasonably proficient with Microsoft Office programs. Experience working within an Operating System is a plus.
