Boston University Academy is seeking a part-time Learning Specialist serving students in grades 9-12. The position begins in August 2024.
The Learning Specialist will work alongside a returning Learning Specialist and as part of a broader Student Support Team.
It is likely a one-year role with a possibility of continuation. The primary responsibility will be meeting one-on-one to support students with executive functioning and a variety of learning styles.
The Learning Specialist may also be involved in reviewing and processing psycho-educational testing; making recommendations to families about additional support (e.
leading professional development for faculty around learning disabilities and learning strategies. The Learning Specialist reports to the Associate Head of School.
As the only high school in New England that is part of a major research university, Boston University Academy (BUA) offers students who love learning both a traditional, caring independent school experience and access to a broad range of university courses.
In the eleventh and twelfth grades, students follow their passions by regularly completing up to twelve courses from Boston University’s undergraduate curriculum.

Required Skills
A master's degree in special education, educational psychology, or a related field and at least three years of experience in a support team role are preferred.
