EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or other related fields required, with 2 years of clinical experience working with children or youth and 1 of those years in a residential setting is preferred. May include Internship or Volunteer positions held.
• Licensed in the relevant field of study or be licensed eligible in the state of Michigan.
• Bilingual in Spanish

The Clinician is responsible for conducting individual/group counseling sessions, and crisis management with unaccompanied children and youth residing in a 24-hour shelter funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). Individual behavioral sessions will focus on each child’s needs using Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) interventions such as Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Group sessions will introduce diverse topics in a psycho-educational format.
