Insight Global is Hiring a Building Automation Technician Near Chicago, IL
DAY TO DAY:
Insight Global’s building automation client is looking for a Controls Technician to service clients in the Chicagoland area. The ideal candidate has knowledge of digital controls concepts and help resolve issues at customer sites. This person will be responsible for going to customer sites, address issues or concerns related to the control system, communicate with the customer about the cause and effect, and follow up with a resolution on what repairs were completed. Other responsibilities include:
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, and in person.
- Always practicing safety in the field.
- Reporting on projects and expenses- ordering materials that may be needed for a repair.
- Resolve technical problems related to HVAC systems.
- Program control systems using appropriate system program language.
MUSTS:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 3-7 years experience working with low voltage building automation system controls.
- Able to program new sequences.
- Software's such as: Tridium (HVAC specific), Metasys, Niagara, Desigo etc.
- Experience troubleshooting, commissioning, and basic preventative maintenance in controls.
- BAS installation experience
- Proficient in low voltage building automation control systems.
- Experience retrofitting
- Experience programming modifications and graphs.
- Experience working with chillers, cooling towers, valves, etc.
- Must have a reliable vehicle with acceptable driving record.
- Must be computer literate to include advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
- Familiar with network or IT programming for building systems (security, fire, or HVAC).
PLUSSES:
- A certification.
- Tridium programming.
- Metasys programming (JCI software)
- Building automation engineering experience
- Trainings or certifications in the following:
- Access Control (Prowatch, C-Cure 8000 or 9000, Casi, etc.)
- CCTV- Analog (Bosch, Pelco, American Dynamics, Cisco, etc.)
- CCTV- IP (Genetec, Indigo Vision, etc.)
- Visitor Management (Honeywell Lobby Works, Stopware, Access Sentry)
- Associate degree or 2-year technical school program.
