Job Description

Insight Global’s client is hiring 2 Senior Business System Analysts that will play a crucial role in their organization by analyzing and improving legacy applications to enhance efficiency and security within their Containerboard business. As a key member of the IT team, you will cultivate partnerships with business stakeholders and leverage IT capabilities to define challenges, identify requirements, and lead collaborative efforts to design and implement innovative technology solutions. The client is seeking a dedicated professional with a versatile skill set that includes proficiency in SQL, SSRS, business analysis, and customer support experience. Additional responsibilities include documenting requirements for systems engineering & integration (SE&I) and hardware (HW) execution. The role also requires serving as an escalation point for tier 1 support for OMS and edge applications, particularly when the offshore team requires assistance (please note this means there will be an on-call requirement one week a month). This position is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation and continuous improvement of the client’s business systems.

Must Haves:

• 6 years as a Business Analyst with proven experience serving as a techno-functional liaison between the business and the IT teams responsible for enabling their technologies
• Advanced SQL skills – candidates must be able to write complex SQL queries from scratch. Candidate must be able to show proficiency with advanced SQL skills such as:
• T-SQL
• PL/SQL
• Subqueries
• Hierarchical queries
• Triggers
• Indices
• Stored procedures
• Main and foreign keys
• Complex joins
• Transactions
• Advanced customer services skills – candidates must be able to interact with different sides of the business (engineers, PM’s, developers, leaders, etc) to ensure communication is streamlined and concise
• Experience with working with 10 teams at one time – candidates must be able to juggle working with many teams and their members all at one time from different parts of the business
• Advanced problem-solving skills – candidates need to be able to create requirements and deliverables to solve an issue know who in the business needs to solve this issue

What You Will Do

• Proactively connect with Containerboard business partners to build relationships with the goal of understanding their businesses process and goals.
• Work with internal business partners to identify gaps in current state business processes that are blocking them from reaching their goals and define what is needed to close those gaps.
• Effectively capture business requirements, map business processes, scope efforts, and develop functional specifications.
• Collaborate across IT teams (application development, infrastructure, and support) and internal business partners to determine the best solutions by researching alternatives, performing functional analysis, and designing/implementing business transformation projects.
• Communicate effectively to business partners, IT teams and Leadership on status, risks and roadblocks, and aid team members to overcome obstacles by working collaboratively.
• Serve as the SME for planning and managing the implementation of a decided upon solution, including and any required integrations.
• Execute against a prioritized backlog to deliver highest value initiatives aligned with business strategies.
• Develop knowledge of supported business processes and system configuration to support, optimize and transform process across the business partners.
• Actively oversee the health of all Containerboard applications (including Service Now incidents)
• Provide on call support at least one week every month

60% of day will be spent optimizing and enhancing existing applications / 20% of day will be administration work/”keeping the lights on” / 20% of day will be planning for future applications

Requirements

• 6 years of experience in SQL Server transact-SQL or PL/SQL.
• Knowledge of designing, configuring, testing and implementing IT solutions.
• Experience understanding and diagraming complex business processes, gathering functional requirements, providing support and guidance to internal IT teams and external vendors as they develop technical solutions.
• Experience building relationships with key business stakeholders to understand their needs, pain points and goals.
• Ability to guide stakeholders through problem definition, requirements gathering, conceptual experimentation and implementation.
• Proficient working with cross-functional team environments through self-directed collaborative approaches.
• Ability to drive and achieve improvement opportunities focusing on root cause analysis to enable self-serve, automation, eliminating old process and technologies, and continuous optimization of our long-term valued systems
• Experience working with software vendors or software development to solve business needs.
