Insight Global is Hiring a Cost Estimator Near Orlando, FL

Location: Hybrid at Kennedy Space Center, 32899

Duration: 6 month contract to hire

Must Haves:

  • Associate’s Degree in related field
  • 8 years of construction estimating job-related experience in the MEP, plumbing, HVAC, fire suppression industry for industrial and/or commercial facilities (with a preference in industrial electrical field)
  • Experience with estimating software (RS Means or similar)
  • Strong CSI Master Format knowledge
  • Experience performing take-offs manually, by hand (instead of through a software like Bluebeam or Procore)

Day to Day:

An employer in the Titusville, FL market is looking for a Construction Cost Estimator to join their team. This person will provide Project Cost Estimating support on a variety of engineering assignments associated with industrial base operations and maintenance of facilities infrastructure. The Project Estimator is responsible for developing conceptual, ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude), and final estimates for facility modification and new construction projects with varying size and scope at the Kennedy Space Center and Canaveral Space Force Station. Cost estimates are prepared within the guidelines of the performance work statement and the CSI Master Format. Ability to complete full quantity take-offs to support accurate estimates for all disciplines in industrial projects including, but not limited to civil and site work, structural, concrete, envelope, finishes, mechanical, and electrical. A complete understanding of the interrelationship of the cost of labor, material, equipment, and productivity in the unit costs used at each level of an estimate is expected.

Compensation:

$43/hr to $57/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
