Job Description:

One of Insight Global's clients, a premier Criminal Defense law firm in Southern California, is looking to hire an Associate Attorney. They specialize in defending individuals facing a wide range of criminal charges, and are committed to showing skill, compassion, and commitment to justice in representing their clients, approaching cases from the perspective of former long-time District Attorneys.

They are seeking an Associate Attorney with criminal law experience who will grow with their firm. As an Associate, you will play a vital role in their mission to protect the rights and interests of their clients. You will work closely with arguably the most experienced criminal defense attorney in the industry on a wide variety of criminal cases, including, but not limited to, misdemeanors, felonies, DUI/DWI, drug offenses, white-collar crimes, and more. You will gain the unique and rare advantage of learning how to defend criminal cases from the perspective of a former career-prosecutor. You will also have the opportunity to gain ample trial and court experience.

Responsibilities:

* Handle your own case load, start to finish

* Make appearances in court and/or before government agencies

* Argue motions and other court hearings

* Conduct trials

* Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, and pleadings

* Advise clients on business and legal transactions

* Negotiate settlements

* Meet with prospective clients for legal consultations

* Conduct legal research and analysis

* Participate in client intake

* Interview clients, witnesses, and law enforcement personnel

* Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff on case management

Qualifications:

* Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

* Admission to the State Bar [State] and in good standing

* 1-3 years of experience in criminal defense preferred (though exceptional candidates with relevant internships or coursework will be considered)

* Strong research, analytical, and writing skills

* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

* Fluency in Spanish is a major plus
