Day to Day:
A company in the Houston area is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This person will be responsible for designing cutting edge generator solutions.
Responsibilities include:
- Participate in the development of innovative system level concepts and designs that meet project and cost targets.
- Interface with suppliers and prototype vendors to obtain quotes, make design changes and execute project initiatives.
- Create and modify detailed drawings, draft conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches, or discussions. Be creative in taking an idea and studying the details before converting it into a design.
- Create, update, and maintain project documentation including Solidworks 3D Model, 2D drawings, product specifications, Autodesk Vault, and testing requirements.
- Support in conducting failure analysis, determining causes and effects, documenting reliability and maintainability trends, and identifying design improvement to prevent similar issues.
Must Haves:
- 3 years of experience designing mechanical and electrical components
- Prior experience designing control systems, relay systems, or smaller cable systems
- Experience within renewables, solar, or battery industry preferred
- Experience using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
