Location: Birmingham, AL
Schedule: M-F, 6 AM-4 PM (on-site, on-call as needed)
Duration: Permanent/Direct-Hire
Salary (dependent on YOE): $120,000-$180,000
Start Date: ASAP (fine with relocation/notice to current employer)
A leading lead distributor and manufacturer is looking for a plant manager to oversee their plant in Birmingham, AL. This person would be overseeing 120 people with 7 direct reports. This person will leverage their leadership skills, lean manufacturing expertise, and knowledge of ERP systems to guide and optimize processes at the Birmingham plant. This is a hands-on role for an experienced leader in the industrial manufacturing space.
Must-haves:
- 5 or more years of plant management experience in industrial-equivalent manufacturing (ie. steel fabrication)
- Proven longevity in previous roles
- Experience exercising lean manufacturing, budgeting and forecasting
- Experience leading at a plant size between 80-150 people
- Experience with ERP systems
- Knowledge of machine maintenance and optimization
- Ability to build rapport and work hands-on with the team
Plusses:
- Bachelors degree in industrial or mechanical engineering
Responsibilities:
- Utilize ERP software to streamline production processes
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency
- Schedule production activities to meet deadlines
- Recruit and train staff to build a high-performing team
- Conduct high-level operations analysis to identify areas for improvement
- Manage budgeting and forecasting for the facility
- Utilize labor management systems knowledge to optimize workforce productivity
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence
- Develop incentive-based rates for production to motivate employees
- Utilize basic computer skills for data analysis and reporting
- Oversee projects related to facility improvements and expansions
