Title: Sr. Accountant
Location: 6200 Sprint Pkwy, Overland Park, KS 66251
Office Model: Hybrid – 3 days a week in office.
Start Date: 2 weeks from offer.
Hours: 8:00-5:00pm
Salary Range: $75K-$144K
Relocations package is available for non-local candidates!
Must Have Qualifications:
- 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Experience at a large company (big 4, second tier accounting firm, company $1B in revenue)
- Experience managing, validating, and consolidating reports for multiple legal entities (50 )
- Advanced excel experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or eligible
- Telecom industry experience
Job Description:
A typical day involves a variety of tasks focused on preparing and analyzing consolidated financial statements for a parent company and its subsidiaries.
- Reviewing Financial Data : Starting the day by refreshing and updating financial data from various sources to ensure that all information is current and accurate.
- Identifying Subsidiaries : Determining which entities are controlled by the parent company and need to be included in the consolidation process.
- Collecting Financial Statements : Gathering financial statements from all subsidiaries, which may involve coordinating with accountants or finance teams at those entities.
- Adjustments and Eliminations : Making necessary adjustments to the financial statements to eliminate intra-entity transactions and balances.
- Calculating Non-Controlling Interests : Accounting for the interests of minority shareholders in the subsidiaries.
- Preparing Consolidated Financial Statements : Combining all the financial data into a single set of financial statements that reflect the financial position and performance of the entire corporate group.
- Analyzing Variance : Comparing actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts and analyzing any variances.
- Reporting : Preparing reports for management that summarize the financial status and performance of the corporate group.
- Compliance : Ensuring that all financial reporting complies with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Continuous Learning : Staying updated with changes in accounting standards and best practices in consolidation accounting.
