Inspira Health Network is Hiring an EMT - BLS Field Supervisor - Ground Transport Near Millville, NJ

MAJOR FUNCTION:

The BLS Field Supervisor oversees, and is responsible for, all aspects of the EMS operations in accordance with all laws, regulations, or Inspira policies and procedures. This individual will with the other BLS Supervisors maintain the department schedule on a day-to-day basis, by handling call outs and filling scheduling openings. The BLS Field Supervisor will be responsible to uphold all the duties listed under the BLS Field Supervisor job description. The BLS Field Supervisor will attend all mandatory meetings, complete all required network certifications and tasks within the allotted time. Will assist in the onboarding process as needed for new employees and work collaboratively with the other leaders to grow and strengthen the department within the communities we serve. Demonstrates strong leadership and educational abilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Associate degree preferred or within 2 years.
  • Two to four (2-4) years of work experience in the field of EMS.
  • Preferred two-four years supervisory experience, and/or lead, and/or EMS charge experience.
  • Preferred relevant management experience.

Certification/Licensure:

  • NJ EMT, or NJ MICP, or NJ endorsed Mobile Intensive Care Nurse required.
  • The employee will maintain all required certifications for their level of licensure/certification as defined by the EMS Regulations NJAC 8:40, 8:41.
  • Valid drivers license in NJ in accordance with Inspira Health’s Fleet Safety ADM.291*IHN*.
  • Incident Command level 300 and 400 must be completed in one year from date of appointment.

Position Responsibilities

Interrelationships:

  • Interacts with all EMS personnel, hospital staff, academic community, and hospital administration and communicates directly with the public, students, local first aid and rescue squads, and contracted agencies.

Operations Oversight:

  • Maintains responsibility for daily operations oversight.
  • Assures that Department and Hospital Policies pertaining to operations are kept current and in agreement with all agencies served by the center.
  • Monitors the performance of all operations.
  • Investigates inquiries related to daily operational issues and elevates these issues, when need be, to supervisors.
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal laws related to all operations.
  • Interfaces with the EMS Field Supervisor and EMS Communications Supervisor throughout the shift to ensure smooth and proper system operation.

Maintains appropriate level of staffing:

  • Maintains the department schedule to ensure that the communications center, support and field units are staffed with appropriate numbers of experienced personnel at all times.
  • Provides oversight to the process of covering short notice openings in the schedule.
  • Works to make sure shifts are paged out appropriately when needed.

Quality Improvement:

  • Assists with QA/QI as needed.

Professional Image:

  • Consistently maintains a positive, professional image of the hospital and department at all times.
  • Consistently presents full courtesy to hospital staff, external customers, and the public throughout contact.
  • Consistently encourages a team effort in the provision of services with allied agencies and personnel.
  • Consistently presents a clean, neat appearance and reports to assigned shift wearing department issued uniform.
