Position DescriptionMAJOR FUNCTION:Under the supervision of the Center Manager, the Lead Dietary Aide will oversee the daily food production and meal service in the INSPIRA LIFE Day center. The Lead Dietary Aide will supervise and provide direction to the Dietary Aides for the cleanliness of the kitchen and service equipment. Collaborating with the Center Manager, the Lead Dietary Aide will provide direction and supervision to the dietary aides to ensure the provision of quality meal service and kitchen cleanliness.
As a multisite provider of PACE community-based services for seniors in Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem Counties, an Inspira LIFE employee may work at either or both the Vineland or Williamstown LIFE Program as census changes or operational needs occur to meet the needs of our participants.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience: - •High School Graduate or Equivalent Required.
- •Two years of experience in an institutional health care food setting.
- •Previous supervisory experience of dietary personnel preferred.
- •Minimum of 1 year working with the frail or elderly.
Certification/Licensure: - •Serve Safe certification required.
- •Successful completion of the local DOH Food Safety Program.
- •Certifications are required or must be attained within six months after date of hire.
Position Responsibilities - •Participates in and oversees the preparation and service of all food products served to LIFE participants.
- •In collaboration with the Center manager, prepares and maintains staff schedules, assigns duties, and oversees the Dietary Aides during the production of foods and meal service.
- •In collaboration with the Center Manager, delegates and assigns daily cleaning duties, daily meal preparation and service duties.
- •Responsible for oversight and maintenance of food temperature, water temperature and equipment temperature logs.
- •Maintains cleanliness of the kitchen and kitchen equipment. Maintains a cleaning schedule and assures Dietary Aides are completing cleaning assignments using proper sanitation techniques.
- •Conducts a weekly inventory of all food items, and orders meals, snacks, supplies, and supplements from vendors weekly and biweekly as indicated.
- •Attends and participates in the daily safety meeting representing the dietary department.
- •Maintains emergency food supply per regulations
- •Communicates equipment problems to appropriate personnel
- •Assists in prepping carts and obtaining appropriate food for the food programs.
- •Assists with record keeping and documentation requirements for the food program per regulations.
- •Collaborates with Center Manager to complete payroll for staff.
- •Collaborates with Recreation Therapist on special food items needed for special activities
- •Participates in departmental interviews alongside the Center Manager.
