A Sneak Peek of Your Role 🔭
As an Editorial Assistant within the Content organization at Instinct, you’ll be integral in content production and work alongside multiple members of our team to ensure timely processing of content (including articles, monographs, and pet owner materials). You’ll facilitate and coordinate the peer-review process for Clinician’s Brief and Plumb’s, two of the animal health community’s leading informational products.
What You’ll Do 🐱‍💻
  • Manage the peer-review process, from assisting with the selection of peer reviewers all the way through tracking of reviewer submissions
  • Work with stakeholders on author selection and coordination
  • Initiate and track author submissions and deadlines and document and save manuscripts and author forms files
  • Provide daily editorial and administrative support for the content team, including creating and reviewing print materials, uploading finalized materials, and conducting quality checks of content as needed
  • Prepare files for distribution to internal and external editors, authors, and reviewers
  • Occasional editorial work, including copyediting and sharing feedback and materials with authors and editors

  • Must Haves:
    • Keen attention to detail, with a sharp eye for consistency
    • Professional writing and communication skills
    • Excellent people skills and ability to work with internal and external parties
    • Able to work independently and remotely
    • Self-starter with excellent time-management and organization skills
  • Nice-to-Haves:
    • BA or BS in related field (eg, English, Journalism, Animal Science) preferred
    • 2 years experience in publications or project organization
    • 1 years experience with Aries/Editorial Manager, or a similar system

Base Compensation range for this role is $40,000-$50,000. This is an non-exempt, salaried role that is eligible for overtime if work hours exceed state/federal requirements for overtime pay.
