Engineering Technician

Pay Rate/Range: $26.00

Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Onsite in Johnson City, TN

Duration: 5 months

• Engineering Support: Participate in engineering studies, processes, designs, inspections, and quality tests.
• Provide support with testing and troubleshooting across various engineering tasks.
• Assist in assembling prototypes and ensure proper interaction of components.
• Gather, record, and maintain engineering-specific information.
• Identify and report problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them.
• Prepare technical reports and analyze technical issues, understanding standards, specifications, and other documents to implement assigned tasks.
• Work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues to resolve complex issues.
• Implement quality and process improvements.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

• Education: Associate of Science degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology or equivalent.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in a related electronic hardware design/test environment.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and datasheets.
• Ability to operate electronic measurement and analysis lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, meters, analyzers, power supplies).
• Capability to wire and set up test equipment.
• Experience in performing testing in a development lab environment and conducting hardware fault insertion testing.
• Electronic component-level soldering experience.
• Knowledge and ability to program automation control equipment (PLC).

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

• Familiarity with the design of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) Input/Output devices and Central Processing Units (CPUs).
• Proficiency with Automation engineering systems (TIA Portal), including fundamental LAD and SCL language programming.
• Familiarity with safety-related standards or processes.
• Proficiency with schematic capture tools.
