Pay Rate/Range: $30.00

Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Fort Madison, IA

Duration: 6 months

Key Responsibilities

• Team Management : Lead a team of approximately 8-10 direct reports and contractors, providing functional guidance to 3-6 HSE personnel across factories and the tooling center.
• Strategy Development : Set HSE strategy for Onshore North America in alignment with global HSE strategy.
• Objective Setting : Establish, track, and report HSE targets and objectives to the management team.
• Reporting : Prepare and communicate HSE Monthly PSM Reports to the Projects organization.
• KPI Management : Establish, track, and report on HSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Continuous Improvement : Plan, initiate, and coordinate new and revised HSE programs and initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Support Decision-Making : Assist Technical Experts (TE) in HSE decisions related to retrofits, yearly release processes, and new turbines.
• Incident Analysis : Ensure all injuries and near misses are analyzed for trends and corrective actions are implemented.
• Staffing and Compliance : Ensure projects are staffed with qualified HSE professionals to meet customer and legal compliance, addressing day-to-day risk measures during transportation, installation, and commissioning of wind turbines.
• Risk Management : Ensure appropriate levels of management are aware of HSE deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Certification Maintenance : Maintain OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
• Environmental Control : Implement control measures for top environmental aspects and adapt for the American segment, including waste management, prohibited substances, and environmental impact compliance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience

• Experience : 10 years of successful experience in the Health, Safety, and Environmental field.
• Communication : Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively present to executive management.
• Organizational Skills : Strong organizational skills to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Advocacy : Advocate for Zero Harm Safety Culture with the ability to influence management decisions to prioritize safety.
• Regulatory Knowledge : Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Authorization : Legally authorized for employment in the United States. No employer-sponsored work authorization required now or in the future.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience

• Industry Experience : Experience in the wind industry.
• Language Skills : Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Certification : Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
