JOB TITLE: Medical Transport Supervisor CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Non-Exempt PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT: Medical Transport IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Medical Transport Manager POSITION SUMMARY: Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the services of medical liaisons within the Medical Transport Department. Develops relationships with practitioners and their staff, Program RNs, and residential staff to assist them with understanding the focus of care coordination. Schedules all medically related appointments for the individuals we serve in the Agency’s Residential Program. Participates in the coordination of travel to and from medically related appointments, working cooperatively with the Medical Transport Manager to ensure the highest level of efficiency. Serves as the primary liaison with Residential Program RNs and site supervisors to share information regarding medical appointments and any other anticipated follow-up. In collaboration with the program Manager, interviews, selects, hires, and evaluates, plans and oversees the proper orientation, training, development, and supervision of all assigned program staff. Works collaboratively to ensure compliance with current agency healthcare regulations. Provides documentation that satisfies regulatory requirements by completing paperwork accurately, in a timely manner and according to established procedures. QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education, Training & Experience: Associate Degree in healthcare related field or Human Services Three (3) years of experience working in healthcare Or High School Diploma or Equivalent Five (5) years of experience working in healthcare. Functional knowledge of basic computer applications (Excel, word-processing, e-mail, etc.) Preferred Education, Training & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare related field or Human Services ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation that meets Agency standards Ability to work autonomously without direct supervision Ability to be a self-directed learner; strong organizational skills Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule Ability to comfortably and clearly present information to adult learners Ability to maintain positive relationships with medical offices and staff. Ability to comprehend medical insurance and billing and use that knowledge to function as a resource to the Medical Transport and Nursing Teams as well as other programs as needed. Knowledge of medical issues and medical terminology with the ability to read and understand medical documents. Excellent people skills and effective oral and written communication skills to enhance patient care, team collaboration and analytical problem solving.
