Position Summary

We are looking for a talented Senior Accountant to join our Team. The responsibilities include maintaining fixed asset records, account reconciliations and supporting the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

Specific Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of accounting duties including accounts receivable posting, accounts payable processing and cost accounting of self-constructed assets and purchased assets.
• Prepares journal entries, balances, maintains and reconciles a variety of general ledger and subsidiary accounts.

• Develop and maintain records of capital assets including construction work in progress (CWIP), additions, disposals, and depreciation.

• Analyze accounting data in the fixed asset subsidiary and general ledger to review and highlight variances, trends, exceptions and discrepancies, taking action as appropriate.

• Identify and document accounting treatment (capital or expense) for capital asset projects.
• Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with operations to ensure financial transactions are timely and accurately recorded.

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities

• Ability to apply independent judgement and discretion as appropriate.

• Detail oriented, analytical and highly organized.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work and meet critical deadlines.

• Highly proficient in Excel.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central/Dynamics GP is a plus.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field.

• 2 years of professional accounting experience.
• Utility/regulatory accounting experience preferred but not required.
