Job Description

• Arrive on time and be ready to start work at scheduled time
• Answer phones professionally and call patients with pathology results
• Administrative tasks including operating office equipment
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Prioritizing tasks – phones, clinic patients
• Chart/EMR documentation
• Knowledge of pathology diagnosis and ability to inform and explain to patient and answer questions regarding providers choice of treatment
• Pathology log – understanding importance of correct diagnosis follow up and documenting providers choice of treatment in each case and the ability to explain to the patient
• Ability to teach post op wound care (post-surgical or post biopsy)
• Suture removal, placement of steri-strips with patient education
• Instruction to acne patients and general knowledge of oral and topical medications that provider has chosen
• Understanding of how to schedule a follow-up appointment
• General knowledge of liquid nitrogen and its uses and safety issues in a medical practice
• Maintaining a clean and orderly lab in a medical practice
• Basic understanding of sterilization techniques and use of the autoclave and ultrasonic sterilizer
• Understanding of the office camera for photos of lesions either for “up close” or for “location” per providers need. Ability to move pictures from camera into computer, rename and attach to each patient chart
• Knowledge of dilution of Sodium Bicarb/Xylocaine 1% with Epi. Necessary for filling syringes to be used in the exam or surgery room
• Ability to give IM injections as directed and proper documentation in the patient chart

Qualifications

Job Type:

• Monday -Thursday 7:45am-4pm, and Friday 8am-2:30pm

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED required

Certifications/Licenses:

• Medical Assisting Certification is required

Pay:

• Pay range starting at $20.00 an hour
