The opportunity is available with Integrated Marine Services, INC., a ship repair company in Chula Vista California. The ideal candidate is currently working as a pipe-welder or has recent, relevant experience with shipboard installations, including large, complex projects. Has the ability to read and understand Ship's installation drawings and must have worked in a shipyard environment. The qualified candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment copper nickel and steel tig pipe test in all three positions. As noted below, pay is commensurate on your skills and abilities. In this instance, that would include the number of (ABS & NAVSEA) weld processes you can successfully certify to.

SUMMARY

Responsible for assembling and welding pipe and structural systems. Has the ability to tig, mig and stick weld pipe for water, steam, potable water, heating, cooling, lubricating, hydraulic, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems. In both thin wall and heavy wall pipe - 5XXX welding experience a definite plus.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate with job site manager and pipefitter to weld various pipe and structural systems.
• Repair cracks and leaks in pipe and plate.
• Have the ability to successfully and efficiently weld butt weld, socket weld, brazed joints and plate.
• Have the ability read and interpret blueprints including having proficiency with interpreting weld symbols.
• Have the ability to set up their own machine to establish proper feeds and speeds.
• Have own welder's tools and own PPE.
• Be a self-starter, have the ability to work independently in a consistently efficient and mature manner.
• Must be able to work first or second shift and work overtime as reasonably directed.
• Factors such as having the ability and willingness to weld plate including aluminum and stainless steel will be factored into your potential for employment and the total rate of pay offered.
• Factors such as consistent speed and efficiency will be factored into the total rate of pay offered.
• Factors such as having experience and the ability to pass weld tests with multiple processes and materials will factor into the total rate of pay offered.
