Integrated Medical Systems, Inc. is Hiring a Biomedical Technician Near Bolingbrook, IL

Integrated Medical Systems, Inc - with ten warehouse & biomed facilities, is one of the nation’s largest privately owned medical supply distributors within the alternative site market.

IMS is looking for a biomedical technician who is capable of doing preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of biomedical equipment. Should have at least one year’s experience in the electronic /medical device field with a technical background and the ability to perform repairs. Familiarity with reading wiring schematics and soldering / de-soldering skills are beneficial. Expected to learn troubleshooting skills and operation of a wide variety of biomedical equipment. You will be expected to participate in business growth and productivity improvement initiatives.

Essential duties & Responsibilities:

  • Checking-in / Staging medical devices.
  • Data Documentation
  • Cleaning / Sanitizing of medical devices
  • Perform testing and Preventative Maintenance to Manufacturer’s specification.
  • Perform basic diagnosis / repairs on a variety of biomedical equipment.
  • Assist in packing & shipping medical devices.
  • Will identify training needs for self.
  • Will keep a clean and organized workstation.
  • Will assure the service area is clean and orderly, providing a safe environment for service personnel.
  • Will ensure accurate database entry and reports.
  • Basic electrical aptitude & soldering skills are beneficial.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Basic troubleshooting ability
  • Some knowledge of various hospital/homecare medical equipment
  • Computer literate with an understanding of database operations
  • Understanding of and ability to operate basic electronic test equipment
  • Basic knowledge of electronics, electricity, electro-mechanical, fluidics, pneumatics and hydraulic theories and practices
  • Strong work ethic and focus on quality work.
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain focus with intermittent distractions.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and sit or stand for long periods of time. Candidate must be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
