This role is a key contributor to customer invoicing, revenue reporting, and period-end closing processes.
This individual will execute key deliverables in accordance with U.S. GAAP, policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
The successful candidate will partner with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure complete, accurate and timely financial statements, while also driving and enabling change related to their areas of responsibility.
Responsibilities
· Develop and deliver subject matter expertise and process ownership of their scope of responsibility including:
o Invoice customers timely and accurately
o Ensure compliance with customer contracts
o Work with external business partners on complex billing, primarily for export sales
o Key account reconciliation and preparation
· Communicate clearly and professionally with customers
· Partner with internal Sales and Marketing team to provide information requested while drafting customer contracts
· Deliver internal control compliance; continually ensure that appropriate risks are identified and that appropriate controls are in place
· Own and manage relevant external and internal audit inquiries
· Assist in reviewing and documenting customer contracts to ensure revenue is appropriately recognized in accordance with ASC 606
· Timely submit support for monthly account reconciliations
· Full understanding of relevant Oracle functionality; ability to identify and drive system and process improvement opportunities with a keen focus on automation, simplification and process/system sustainability
· Drive and own cross-functional stakeholder relationships
· Investigate and resolve business unit inquiries and variance analysis
Required Skills and Experience
· Associates degree in Accounting. BS in Accounting preferred.
· Familiar with accounting theory and application of U.S. GAAP
· Excellent communication skills – ability to build and instill trust and partner effectively with stakeholders
· Experience with working in a complex, fast-paced reporting environment
· Experience with ERP systems; Oracle preferred
· Ability to build a clear sense of ownership and accountability in their scope of responsibilities; capability to pursue solutions and additional information when gaps or questions exist
· Problem-solving skills – identification and implementation of solutions
· Proficient with Microsoft Office, including intermediate knowledge of Excel
· Strong organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills
