Integrity Spine & Orthopedics is Hiring a Medical Assistant with X-ray certification Near Jacksonville, FL

Growing private Spine and Orthopedic practice seeking a certified Medical Assistant with X-ray certification to join our dynamic team. Candidate must be a professional, detail-oriented team player with effective interpersonal communication skills, and excellent customer service capabilities. Must be highly organized and have ability to multi-task. Must be able to effectively communicate with surgeons, patients, colleagues, external vendors, and clinic leadership.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing radiology procedures and operating X-ray equipment
  • Demonstrate responsibility for the care and safety of patients
  • Demonstrate safe handling of equipment and films
  • Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic and/or fluoroscopic examinations
  • Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure
  • Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly
  • Makes special radiographic examinations requiring special equipment and procedures
  • Assists in maintaining basic records, reports, scheduling, filing, and phone communications
  • Verifies insurance coverage and obtains appropriate authorizations for surgical cases
  • Answer incoming calls, address inquiries, and transfer calls as required
  • Schedule general patient appointments
  • Assist with Intakes and cross coverage
  • Obtain external medical reports as required
  • Updates reports and spreadsheets for management
  • Respond and comply to requests for information
  • Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certified Radiology Technologist License, required
  • 2 year experience in Medical Office setting, surgical services preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnosis preferred
  • Knowledge of referral, authorization process, and healthcare insurance preferred
