Position Overview

This position is responsible for safely performing general labor tasks inside a welding shop. Responsibilities may include duties such as operating rolling and cutting machinery, grinding and blending welds, material movement, assisting welders, forklift operation, maintaining tools and equipment, testing and coating of semi-finished products. The position will include other duties as assigned by the shop supervisor.

Essential job functions

· Assisting certified welders

· Cleaning and preparation of components and materials

· Operation of metal forming and cutting machinery

· Assembly and Hydro testing of products

· Painting or coating of products

· Use of common hand tools including grinders

· Use of common measurement tools

· Completing documentation of manufacturing processes

· Moving materials, finished, and semi-finished goods with forklift

· Assist with shop floor quality inspections

· Follow company policies.

Education and experience

· High school Diploma or equivalent

· Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment

· Familiarity understanding blueprints and work instructions

· Use of common hand tools including grinders, cutting tools, and impact wrenches

· Ability to read a tape measure, level, and squares

· Ability to safely operate forklift, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes

Work Environment/Physical Demands

· Willing and able to work outside in manufacturing/warehouse environment with varying temperatures.

· Willing to work in a manufacturing environment with dust, fumes, oils and where noise levels can be high.

· Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Ability to lift fifty pounds and handle physical workload.

· 8-hour shift - Monday to Friday

$14-$18/hour
