A private, culinary school is seeking a Student Financial Aid Director for their Financial Aid Office.

The Financial Aid Director must manage and coordinate the student financial aid program through the implementation and maintenance of financial aid services for students from federal, state, institutional and private sources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administers and supervises the implementation of financial aid policies, office procedures and funding programs.
• Counsel applicants, students and parents regarding financial aid program
• Process all financial aid, Title IV, Sallie Mae loan applications
• Award and track Culinary Merit and Elizabeth S Leite scholarships
• Prepare award letter for all non-cash students
• Schedule all student payments in Diamond SIS software
• Complete required reports for federal, state and local funds and grants.
• Prepare and maintain an operating budget.
• Perform all refund calculations.
• Manage leave of absences taken by students.
• Answer financial aid inquiries from telephone calls, walk-ins and emails
• Actively participate in orientation, graduation, open houses and other events.

Requirements:

• 2 years experience minimum working for financial aid program at a higher education institution.
• 2-3 years at a college or university preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations, needs analysis, student budgets, financial aid packaging, professional judgment policies, cflags, debt management, and federal, state and private grants, scholarships, work and loan programs.
• Experience using Diamond SIS software.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and complete various projects within designated deadlines.
• Strong administrative and leadership abilities as a professional staff member are required.
